Patois Labs
Why "Patois"?
A patois is a language that belongs to a community: not to an academy, not to an institution, and not to a vendor. It grows wherever people actually use it, shaped by the group it serves.
That's what we think your localization stack should be: something your team owns and shapes, not something you rent. Patois Labs builds Localization Studio on that idea: software for language work that belongs to the people doing the work.

The founder
I'm Brent.
I've spent my career on both sides of the localization industry: the vendor side at Intento and Lilt, and the client side on the localization team at LinkedIn and leading the localization program at Cricut. For years, a big part of my job was listening to teams describe what their TMS couldn't do. Everyone had a list. The lists were all different. And nobody had a system adaptable enough to fit them.
So I started building one, a TMS designed from the first commit to be customized: MT-first, self-hosted, modular enough that every team can shape it into their system instead of bending their process around somebody else's.
I run Localization Studio the way I expect you to: on my own hardware, against local open-weights models on the GPU in my home lab, with no cloud in the loop. The self-hosted pitch isn't marketing. It's how the product is built, tested, and used every day.
If any of this sounds like a conversation your team has been having, I'd like to hear about it.
